Out of Katherine and onto the Kimberley
As you leave Katherine you are faced with the magnitude of this wonderful country, the hills, valleys and colours of the parched earth is insane.
Our destination was Kununarra, we had met Matt and Leigh in bitter springs who were going to work at one of the parks so we decided to to stay there with them, whilst there we were very lucky to go out on the house boat on the lower lake argyle, stunning is all that can be said.
We spent a day driving out to Lake argyle, the size is massive, incomprehensible the magnitude. for $5 we could swim in the endless pool, awesome !! finished off with a bbq dinner !
We traveled through the “buildup period” meaning it was very dry, humid and bloody hot; this being the case we were unable to free camp as much as we wanted. It is hard to describe the magnitude of the Kimberley however we will be back again in the cooler months
After refueling and re watering at Halls creek we headed for Froth Boab dingo point camp area. Just imagine living with the Flintstones, this is what it was like, we managed to find a lovely shaded area behind the rocks, exploring this area is amazing. It is on the road to timber creek

The heat was intense and there were few vehicle on the road, we knew that for any reprieve we needed a coastal view so onto Broome, needed to get the car serviced whilst we were there and caught up with Lloyd, I have known Lloyd all his life and what a top bloke and beautiful partner Jo
Every day the kids either swam, fished or swam and fished, we were right on the water front. We spent time in Cape Leveque and learnt about pearls and shells, very informative

Cable beach was insane, camel rides, cars on the beach and a gorgeous sunset. so we will leave it there at the moment, hope you enjoy the read
